KHCONF and Unlimited Long Distance
KHConf cannot accept an order from a congregation that plans to use unlimited long distance and call forwarding. Many telephone companies consider this to be "fraud" or a "violation of the acceptable usage agreement".The reason is because each one of those calls cost the phone company 1 to 2 cents per minute. That adds up, usually to more than you will pay them. So as soon as the phone company realizes how much they are losing on your account, they will turn you off -- and there have been similar situations where a phone company filed a lawsuit against someone for violation of their terms and conditions. Below are samples of "Unlimited" long distance contracts:
Frontier: Unlimited Long Distance service is for residential voice use only. Certain excessive uses or calling patterns may be considered evidence of abuse. Calling patterns other than that which are considered usual and normal for Frontier residential customers may be considered abuse and result in termination of service without refund or the possibility of renewal. The Company reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to (1) cancel service for violation of these terms and conditions of service at any time and/or (2) bill and adjust from the initial abuse, all calls at a per minute rate.
Sprint Unlimited: Use of any feature, including but not limited to call forwarding, on a planned and continuing basis to allow an originating caller to avoid long distance charges is prohibited.
AT&T: Unlimited voice services are provided solely for live dialog between two individuals. Unlimited voice services may not be used for conference calling, call forwarding, monitoring services, data transmissions, transmission of broadcasts, transmission of recorded material, or other connections which do not consist of uninterrupted live dialog between two individuals. If AT&T finds that you are using an unlimited voice service offering for other than live dialog between two individuals, AT&T may, at its option, terminate your service or change your plan to one with no unlimited usage components.
Verizon: The Verizon Freedom Plans are for residential voice use and may not be used for commercial purposes. Verizon may suspend, restrict or cancel your service if your usage is inconsistent with residential voice usage.
